In my experience Xeon workstations are no more noisy than personal computers. That's including my current Lenovo with can't-even-remember-how-many cores and just shy of 200GB RAM.
I never felt a need to measure how much my employer pays for electricity.
- thrower123 7y agoI have a Xeon ThinkServer sitting here on my desk as I type this. It is considerably quieter than the laptop I sometimes use, under typical usage (Slack, VS Code, a couple other Electron apps, Outlook).
