This happened to someone with a Netgear Arlo [1] a while ago. Netgear responded to the user that resale isn't 'supposed' to occur and so didn't consider it an issue previously. Nevertheless they claim to have been working on a fix. Outside of various geeks though I'm not sure that word of most vulnerabilities with internet connected cameras reaches a wider audience.
