Do people really want to own their data? I'm very skeptical about this.
- TaylorAlexander 7y agoI do.
- dharness 7y agoWho would you prefer own it?
- saagarjha 7y agoAs opposed to not owning their data?
- dongqing 7y agoPeople do wanna own their data but are too lazy to manage it.
- gitgud 7y agoMost people don't care... Until they realise some random company knows their address, name, DOB, favourite food, browsing habits, friends and family, personality.........
- rakoo 7y agoThis is all data, not furnitures. You owning it and storing it on your homeserver doesn't prevent a third party from knowing where you live and what you ate for breakfast.
- flattone 7y agofree to be skeptical.... cheers. (Yes. hell yes. + insane bonkers tin foil hat yes + well grounded yes + + principled yes . . . )
- ghusbands 7y agoThere are various ways it could be nice. For example, only having one location to back up, if you want backups, rather than having to find the download-my-data link for every single service you use.
