I think of languages at work as dislike and don't dislike. Basically if something gets in my way, I don't like it. I do love Elixir, but for the kind of work I am doing currently, I'd have a hard time selling the benefits of it over just about any other language. But I dislike Java's verbosity, so unless Java brings something other options lack, I feel like pushing back on too much code being a legit reason to avoid Java.
