Having recently left Portland for Seattle, its pretty easy to see how precarious the situation is out here. Oregon seemed to do a better job of keeping "Portland" laws in Portland, whereas Seattle is doing its legal work at the state level and forcing it on down to everyone. If Oregon isn't careful they'll end up with Portland running the entire state, and the consequences of that are pretty obvious.
