I don't see any evidence that society tends to be driven toward stability or tolerance, and even if it did, why you would attribute that to religion.
- FabHK 7y agoI'd argue that over time society has in fact become more stable and more tolerant (read Steve Pinker's latest tome about the enlightenment), but that it was possible because of the simultaneous decline of religion.
- Retra 7y agoWhat society has done or is doing is a rather different matter than what it tends to do.
