To keep in line with the aims of the US Constitution you would need much more powerful weaponry than what is allowed, which currently can't actually be used to take on anyone with any real firepower... but is often used against civilians which was not the aim of the constitution.
- fuzz4lyfe 7y agoI agree. The aim of women's suffrage was to garner more votes for Republicans in a similar manner. I hope we aren't so quick to throw that away without a vote like it seems many are ready to do with the 2nd.
- gnode 7y ago> can't actually be used to take on anyone with any real firepower This isn't entirely true. Civilian firearm ownership can make occupations more dangerous for invading forces. Obviously, if an enemy wants to level your city with bombs and artillery, rifles won't help you, but often this isn't their intention.
