At this point, I straight-up refuse to ever entertain giving Google a cent of actual money. It's very obvious from the multitude of stories like this that no one can rely on them to provide a reasonable customer service experience unless you're a big business with a large spend. At least with data-funded services, I can choose to stop any time. I'm never on the hook via some form of contract.
