- SlipperySlope 7y agoThe presidential election cycle model would suggest that a US equities bust would occur in 2021 when the Fed is free to raise interest rates after the presidential election of 2020. Trump’s protectionism has the effect of holding back the demand economy while stimulating domestic manufacturing jobs which pay high wages. I believe that we have not yet seen the full effects of the boom which will be outrageous as the article suggests.
