Why not take the food stamps you are entitled to? I bet you none of the people here who bought homes are forgoing their mortgage interest deductions and just fasting and meditating instead. And you'll probably qualify for the EITC too. Those programs are there for a reason, and there is no nobility in starving yourself to avoid some paperwork.
