I mainly use Dropbox as a way of syncing a bunch of textfiles between my PC and phone, so I use GoodSync[1] on my PC and FolderSync[2] on my phone. That said, I've recently started using Resilio for some other stuff, so I could probably do away with Dropbox for this use case, and just use that instead. The other time I use Dropbox is for apps that use it as an intergrated way of syncing or backing up settings, such as MoneyDance[3].
