This graph displays the average requests/second that the python tornado framework can handle graphed over time by commits. Very surprising and also a little concerning since I am relying on Tornado for my current projects. Just wanted to make sure that you all were made aware of this in case you are considering using Tornado for your own projects (although I have had nothing but positive experiences with it).

- crad 16y agoThanks for posting this. I'm eager to see Ben and others reply to this on the list.
- viksit 16y agoThats a great script you guys wrote! Any chance it's going to be open sourced? Would be really fun to play around with github projects!
- SriniK 16y agothanks for sharing.. its pretty awesome how you automated the test.. i would love to hear more from bitly folks or hipmunk folks about their experience on the performance. I am big fan of tornado, ben and it's simplicity. I guess i will continue to use my old branch for now.
- Soupy 16y agoJust wanted to quickly clarify that I was not responsible for the test, all credit goes to Jacob on the tornado google group (http://groups.google.com/group/python-tornado/browse_thread/thread/94b45e815ac992ac# http://groups.google.com/group/python-tornado/browse_thread/...). Sorry for the misunderstanding.
- tomwans 16y agoThe Tornado framework is AMAZING for its simplicity. It gives you ONLY the things you'll need and a just a little bit extra. It's really great.
- kn0thing 16y agoThanks for mentioning this - I'm talking Steve/Chris into doing a tornado talk at pycon right this moment. This is great ammo.
- j2d2j2d2 16y agoI believe Steve was one of the bigger pushes for the stack context stuff too. Mailing list suggests so anyway.
