Are they actually 'blue'? I ask because of your quotes. I heard before that we perceive slightly yellow light as white (because of the sun) and these 'blue' lights are really pure white but our perception shifts it.

They have a color temperature of 6500k (or 8000k? or higher?), which is a very blue tint of white.
