Ask HN: Will Fusion become a reality in the next 10 years?

Hey HN, I’m an ML graduate student and recently I’ve been looking into physics out of general curiosity. I’m aware of the race to build a net positive energy fusion system, but I don’t entirely understand the obstacles. What are some promising teams/orgs working on the fusion moonshot, and is the outlook promising? Also, is there any space for someone with CS/ML/Math background to plug in?
