Property crime, is up, but not an "epidemic" - that's probably the homeless issue.
Violent crime, it's not any worse than normal.
- smohnot 7y agoYour link suggests that property crime in SF is up 40% in the past 5 years while it's down 25% nationwide... The economist and others consider it an epidemic: https://www.economist.com/united-states/2019/02/16/property-crime-rates-test-san-franciscans-values https://www.economist.com/united-states/2019/02/16/property-... SF has the worst property crime in the nation
- mistrial9 7y agoSF has the most reported and documented property crime in the nation there, I fixed it for you
- missingcolours 7y agoAnd the crazier thing is that in my experience SF is much less interested in taking your report than other cities I've lived (even Detroit), so it may even be substantially understated.
- arkades 7y agoIs there a reason to believe SF would be wildly anomalous in its propensity for reporting and documenting property crime? If not, that nitpick is valid but pointless.
