Cheap crap is more profitable, hence a lot of its manufacturing have been off-shored decades ago to those willing to do it cheaper. This cheap often unneeded crap is marketed as a dream and sold to an irrational population incapable of escaping evolution. I keep saying this “collection” of what we call money is like a hoarding disorder. Why keep collecting when I have enough that it cannot spent during several lifetimes? Add to that, all science point to it destroying this very earth. Looks like no one is escaping evolution.
