"technology that eliminated half of all programming jobs" Technology changes so much that half of all programming jobs that exist today will be gone in 10 years. Some new ones will be created though. The scary thing to me though, is if industry truely embraces open source/block chain. We could get into a state where most software is open... and fixing it is a bounty system, then 20% of programmers would make 80% of the money as they build AI to indentify opportunities, and solutions.
