- neuronic 7y agoNo, I would counter that something needs to be done about poor train infrastructure. You are mentioning an important problem but I firmly believe that cheap flights are not a future-proof, sustainable solution as long as kerosene is the fuel. Trains on the other hand could be a wonderful approach. Political incentives have stifled train infrastructure in the past. Trains in Germany are already a joke but its insane how this concept is just non-existent in the US due to the reign of cars and flights. But I guess its more important to spend $600bn on a massively overinflated military or in case of Germany to politically support Big Car.
- assblaster 7y agoSo you would want to increase the travel time for people who can't afford air travel, which would increase the amount of time they would need to take off from work? That doesn't seem fair to people who depend on a job for their livelihood.
