  It's more like butter infused with spices, not hot sauce. Using an oil-based coating allows the fried chicken to stay crispy. They also add pepper to the batter.

  Fried chicken + cayenne pepper + buttermilk + brown sugar + some other spices. It's not buffalo wings nor does it taste like them if that's what you're wondering. It's closer to a spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy's or Chick Fil A, but a bit more sweet/spicy than just spicy.
