My conspiracy theory is that the whole Cambridge Analytica ordeal makes Facebook data appear to be valuable, which makes Facebook look valuable. And in reality, it is not nearly as valuable as the perception that is cultivated.
- JetSpiegel 7y agoThis seems corroborated by the fact that Facebook's fine was incorporated as cost of doing business. Putting it in another way, CA was a false flag operation to keep Facebook's stock value?
- propogandist 7y agoYes. The masses (including investors) do not know much about facebook ad targeting, its effectiveness and RoI on social advertising.
