It seems like Google thinks of the web as "their thing". Just like Facebook owns Facebook and Amazon owns Amazon, it seems Google wants to own the web and turn it into Google. Amp pages are similar to a Page on Facebook or an Article on Amazon. The author is limited to what the platform allows. And the visitors stay on the platform. I wonder how that will turn out for Google. I wonder how that will turn out for the web.
