I'm not sure I understand the point of this article except to write a hit piece against Howard Schultz. For shame, NYTimes.
Schultz is no longer the CEO of the company and it is easy for Starbucks to distance themselves from his campaign. A simple press release: "Howard was a great founder and we wish him well in his future endeavors".
Additionally, media should refer to him as: "Howard Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks." That makes it clear that the two are no longer affiliated.
