The shaving subculture prevalent in 'higher' circles tends to favor manual/artisan shaving. For this cadre, shaving is a ritual, not a necessary evil. For me its a necessary evil, so I use a 5 year old electric razor with which I have never installed replacement blades. I still get a smooth shave, no cream, no oils, no water, 1 minute max, and then I'm out the door for the day. This is blasphemy, I know.
