A few things played a significant role:
- Superjet cannot dump fuel
- Due to its weight the landing gear collapsed puncturing the wings
- The sparks from sliding on its engines ignited the fuel
- prolepunk 7y agoNot being able to dump fuel seems like a pretty serious design flaw.
- greglindahl 7y agoThere are many common aircraft that can't dump fuel.
