SEC approves new Silicon Valley stock exchange backed by Marc Andreessen
- theandrewbailey 7y ago> Prior filings indicated an aspect of the exchange in which the voting power of shares increases in tandem with how long an investor owns a stake. Firms listed on the exchange are also required to abide by certain rules, including a ban on tying executive pay to the company's short-term financial performance. Where do I sign up?
- bwb 7y agoI love it, what a great idea. I've seen this floated a few times before as a possible fix for short-termism.
- LowLevelHacker 7y agoBig question is will they do cryptocurrencies?
- immichaelwang 7y agoWhat are the downsides?
- teslaberry 7y agothisis how you know it's a scam. marc andreesen, the guy who needs to unload his shares, and pay less vig to do so, on stupid 'long term investors'. the problem is that hte big vc's have no exit, with uber and lyft shitting the bed, and wework about to implode, they need a new trap for retail investors. so ...just like with crypto, you just boot up new exchanges , only this time the SEC has given their blessing to this likely bear trap. because pink sheets weren't enough..... lovely. ravikant said it best, starutp economics are ponzinomics, but you always need a bigger sucker to get out. and if there is no real hope the company even produces meaningful profits, it's just a revenue scam to scale and sell to someone willing to hold the bag of debt....
