I had misread your initial comment. As a north-american, I often hear people arguing in favour of more sprawl. A detached house and minimum two cars for a family. I think we agree that we can have nice 'small' but dense cities. We don't all need to be New York, but we also don't want to clutter the planet with suburbs.
