People usually cite benefits to farmers, energy savings, declining crime/traffic accidents, happiness due to more sunlight etc.
The first Google result for me implies that these are largely myths (https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2018/03/05/the-5-reasons-to-keep-daylight-saving-time-have-no-science-to-back-them-up/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2018/03/05/the-...).
- HelloMcFly 7y agoThe only reason I've heard anyone in reality desire it is for when the sun is present i.e. later in the day. It's why I prefer DST of standard time as a permanent thing. More sunlight in the evening, that's all there is to it for me. But I'd rather standard time with no DST than the switching we do today.

Probably due to fewer hours of sleep. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/04/19/how-living-wrong-side-time-zone-can-be-hazardous-your-health/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.14e8f21f9d50 https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/04/19/how-livin...
