The best problems, in my experience (as an interviewee), are ones that are based on your own experience. e.g. "Last week I was trying to do ___ because ___. How would you have done it" It's important to realize that the candidate has had much less time to think about it (and is in a more stressful position), but I think that questions like these should tell you a lot more than generic "reverse a linked list" type questions.
