Boycotts are good way to go. But for giant companies like Amazon and Paypal, it is unclear that they would be able to correlate determine why their sales are going down. Unless the Boycott is huge.

Both Amazon and Paypal ask you why you closed your account with them. Now, if you just reduce your usage of their services, then you're right, it'll be hard to attribute.
