Well US is a first world country, isn't it expected that it's more civilized and educated than Somalia or Kenya ? My intuition tells me that he had way more opportunities to educate himself in US, opportunities which other Somalian/Kenyan kids did not have and in consequence he has a head start and he should take advantage of that.
