I think it's "worse" than that. Last week, I wrote four classes. They weren't very long. I spent most of the time trawling through libraries I was using trying to figure out how to write those four classes. But it felt like quite a productive week: they were the "right" four classes, and I could have written a lot more code that did the job less concisely.
