- chipperyman573 7y agoI doubt most people support legalizing LSD. "Most middle-class college-educated young adults, especially those in tech fields, support it" might be more accurate. For example, a recent bill to legalize marijuana in NJ failed earlier this month, and I would be very surprised if more people supported acid than weed. - nemosaltat 7y agoWhat are you trying to say here? That compqring "pro-drug" with "pro-choice" is a straw man? For one thing, I don't thing it is- there does seem to be a corralary. For another, it's important to be mindful of the fallacy fallacy, that is, a logical fallacy doesn't necessarily invalidate a conclusion. I'm not saying that was your intent, but would be curious if you could explain.
- BurningFrog 7y agoSince abortion is legal and LSD illegal most everywhere, there must be a lot of people who are for one but against the other.
- nine_k 7y agoNot necessarily. Abortion is a pressing practical issue People may be very vocal about it. Psychedelics is mostly an issue of recreation, even without a few millennia of consumption ingrained into culture like alcohol. So the efforts people exert to legalize each are commensurate to how pressing each issue is.
- acct1771 7y agoPeople frame it as an issue of recreation, but it's actually a mental health crisis that these are not more accessible.
