Does life get really boring for you, then?

  Not at all. I'd say one of the reasons these things don't seem new and exciting is because as you age, you acquire things that feel much more important than new experiences for the sake of new experiences. Having a family for instance will give you near continuous new experiences at an intensity level you basically can't match outside of that situation. It's also interesting and exciting to continue to get better at things I love (programming, hobbies...).
