What always happens is the Open Source people say "screw Oracle" and fork the project and the community comes along with them. The Hudson/Jenkins and OpenOffice/LibreOffice fails were two of the quickest and most obvious. Java EE seems like the same sort of thing, but much bigger and in slow motion.
