Question: for data keyed by user, did you find you'd actually be better off using an distributed in-process cache than a remote cache? I find that hard to believe but maybe I'm just not up to speed on how advanced these caching solutions are.
- neeleshs 7y agoOur use case was not for data keyed in by user, but system generated events that were cached in memory (on a remote cache) for deduplication. We started with distributed in-process cache (Apache Ignite), but found out that failure modes of the cache were not acceptable for the core application. Hence we moved the cache out, to Redis. App behaves far better now.
