Starting something like a YouTube competitor would be a PR nightmare. How profitable is YouTube for Google that it makes sense to launch a competitor?
- r3bl 8y agoDoes YouTube need to be profitable? Alphabet is big enough that they could afford to operate a few services at a loss. It's certainly something to keep in mind during the market research phase, but I don't think this means that all the possible competitors are destined to lose money if they make an attempt at competing.
