I agree with you, except that I'd put the Olympics at the bottom. They have their beauty pageant/silent auction/bid every two years, where cities across the world bid against each other for a single year Olympic event, and the process is riddled with bribery. The NFL (and all other pro sports teams) at least sign a multi-decade contract. Still a terrible deal for tax payers, but not as bad as the Olympics.
