I recently tried to find out what I'd be charged for a standard office visit. There was literally no one at the provider or my insurance company who would tell me what it would cost - even though I have a high deductible plan and would be paying 100% of it. Eventually I got a "guesstimate" of $200-300 for the visit. I cancelled the appointment.
