Show HN: Anya (v2.1), chatbot to free RAM and CPU in your brain
Anya is a chatbot that lives on Facebook Messenger and Telegram. She's designed to provide you with cues at relevant times of day to either review your progress on your life procrastinations, track your sleep or meditate.
I'm a big believer in self-automation. However, before we even start talking about AI completing tasks for us, I believe we should already start with freeing up cognitive capacity. This bot allows me to go about my day whilst capturing small pieces of information at relevant times. It then resolves that information back to me so I can critically analyse it and take action.
My favourite feature: The procrastinator. This tool takes up to 3 goals at any time. Each day I fail to complete a goal, I have to add an excuse and over time I see them piling up, which provides me with material to ensure I can't reuse them
Backstory: After spending a heck of a lot of time building discipline and habits and trying a bunch of apps, I decided to build something that focuses on the essentials. Conversational approaches spoke more to me than all these apps that try to be impressive but ended up distracting me
Feedback welcome: "Evolution favours not the strongest, but those who are the most adaptable to change"

- qnsi 8y agoYou made bot for Messenger and Telegram, but to talk to human you have whatsup option? Little peculiar. I tried accessing privacy policy, but your link doesn't work. Other than that, I messaged a bit with your bot, and I like the idea. I am not sure chatbot is the best UX, most of the chatbots I tried I disliked. But I wish you success. (Sidenote, do you plan to monetize? org domain is confusing for me if you are for-profit)
- melboudi 8y agoThanks for the feedback. Yes, more people have WhatsApp than FB or Telegram. Good point though, I've just plugged in a Telegram support link. Regarding the UX, bots are actually the perfect technology for this case. The goal is to replicate your self-talk process and that happens through words. Finally, I agree with disliking the chatbots. Alot of them want to showcase cutting edge NLU/NLG tech at the expense of actually providing a service. The goal with Anya is to provide a bot that helps you actually grow as a human overtime and get better data about yourself instead of staying on one-off waffle conversations. Yes, we do plan to monetise. Premium plan coming in May at $18 p. month including additional life tools, analytics, guided goal setting
