I guess I just treat Netflix as a sort of cheaper alternative to basic cable. I don't expect every movie (or a good chunk of movies) ever made to be available at all times. That's more the realm of specific digital rental options like Amazon or Google, etc. But when I am just taking a break for an hour or two in the evening and want to "see what's on", I fire up Netflix and flip through newly added movies/shows or skim through the familiar category listings. It's certainly not perfect, but for (now) $13/month, it serves the same purpose as basic cable used to serve for me and it's about as much as I used to pay just for the stupid cable box rental.
