I think it is mix of interest and "likeability(?)", and I like that way. I like that people have their own self interests and will put themselves before me, because that leaves the space for me to do it when I find useful as well. And I need it, because I have a team which I need to keep it well balanced. In the end make they happy with their environment(compensation, challenges, pressure... etc).
