Subsidized daycare can boost the economy: more people having kids, and more people on the workforce.
(Quebec/Canada has a mix of semi-state-owned daycare, which are great, but few, and subsidized private daycare, which aren't as good, but usually not that bad)
- Chris_Chambers 7y agoSubsidized daycare attracts scum who abuse children and exploit the system for free money. Several daycares have been caught falsely claiming to be taking care of hundreds of absent children so they can pocket money stolen from the taxpayers since they’re paid per child claimed. For each corrupt daycare caught, there are probably dozens more getting away with it. We might as well just be paying mothers to stay home with their children rather than adding insult to injury by stealing those mothers’ tax dollars and distributing it to human filth.
