Show HN: Platypus 3.0 – Server monitoring with websockets
- gmemstr 7y agoHi HN, I've posted this project before but that was pre-rewrite to use Golang rather than relying on Python. The advantages are pretty clear, most importantly being compiled binaries to make deployment super easy. I was hesitant to post 3.0 since it's lacking in features compared to 2.0, but I've been using it personally for a couple weeks and a few close friends have been testing it as well. Always open to new suggestions, and the roadmap for the rewrite is in the README. :)
- benbristow 7y agoLooks nice! One thing I would say is that within your 'web' folder you've put the compiled app and not the source code.
- gmemstr 7y agoI was debating the best way to handle that - the front end is currently written in React (so I could get a taste for it) and I knew I couldn't just include the source files from that. I'm completely open to alternative way to handle this though.
- benbristow 7y agoUse GitHub's 'releases' feature to release versions of the application with the web app precompiled?
- la6470 7y agoWhat is it? What does it do? Your latest README doesn’t seem to say that.
