Humans are predatory pack animals with violence built in. It takes culture and the frontal lobe thinking to override the natural impulses. Videos of kids attacking another kid for a toy that they had no interest in until the other kid picked it up is a common thing. Most humans form into groups and attack other humans. Politics is a good example of this. The macho man culture, highly prevalent in socialist societies, is probably partly to blame for the social isolation that can lead to less impulse control.
