If the salient thing about "the Mexican cartels" to you is that they happen to be Mexican... well what can I say, that's not exactly being a paragon of openness and tolerance, is it? I'm similarly unhappy about the focus on "Islamic" or "Muslim" as the supposed issue, since as has been pointed out here as well, that whole framing is reminiscent of religious wars in a way that's highly problematic. Islam itself or "Islamic immigration" qua Islamic is not really the point here.
