Isn’t it possible that many of these people are “at the bottom of society” because they’re lazy, etc? I’m not saying that’s everyone’s situation, but it is the case for many. There are plenty of people who spent their formative years partying and doing whatever else except for schooling, and these are the types of jobs that are left for them.
It is a failure of society on some level, but it should not be up to the corporations to take on those people who are unemployable due to their own behavior and approach to life.

- jyounker 8y agoI grew up in really shitty conditions. People at the bottom are usually there not because they suck as people, but because they started there, and the deck is stacked against them from the very beginning of their lives.
