I find your analysis to be wholly naive. Social media is a technology model purposely built to be addictive, and built to reward balkanization. The human proclivity for tribalism, resulting in witch hunts, is wholly exacerbated and magnified by Facebook and Twitter, and the companies seem to want to do little to curb it, because so much of their traffic is built upon it. It's my opinion that social media does to the mind what cigarettes do to the lungs.
