"I was actually flattered that someone of Lubos's stature would take notice of my work and put forth the effort to criticize it. I think it said more about Lubos than it did about me that he chose to lob an ad-hominem at me, but whatever, it's a win-win for me"
From your comments its clear you like the attention regardless of the implications. The math has been stated, the resources to understand the algorithm are all there and not particularly hard to understand if you take the time. If you have questions on implementing the algorithm on your own you can ask. Otherwise there will eventually be public code available for people to see themselves and you can just wait for it. Have a nice night.
- lisper 7y agoI understand the math. What I don't understand (yet) is what the benefit is supposed to be. Why should I care about the math? What can I do with an SDR that I cannot do equally well some other way? When Gerard originally approached me, he gave me what was essentially answer to that question that I interpreted as claiming that he had achieved quantum supremacy on a classical computer. When I asked him to confirm this, he did. But the problem is, it turns out that Gerard didn't know what quantum supremacy was. He thought it was "hype-y / marketing terminology". It isn't. It's a technical term with a precise meaning [2]. So this whole mess is, AFAICT, just a misunderstanding.
