One way to make it harder for those who "own" the voting system to rig it would be to reform the voting system itself so that it isn't the first-past-the-post winner-take-all system we have today.
- ataturk 7y agoIf you're really serious about that then "simple majority" should give way to county or some other territorial breakdown which would limit the effects of gerrymandering and urban concentration of voters. I grew up in upstate NY. The problem with upstate is that ALL the major policies are for the benefit of NYC and nothing else happens. That means everyone in rural parts of the state is disenfranchised regardless of whether they vote, their needs aren't being met, which is why upstate is full of ghost towns--everyone that could leave got out. I'm all for democratic reforms, but that doesn't mean destroying conservatism in the process. I'm also in favor of Voter Id, not counting illegal immigrants in the census, and disfavor any and all of the current ploys at creating permanent Democrat-Socialist majorities because Marxism is deadly and we had enough of that in the 20th century.
