I agree somewhat, but vendor lock-in is also something often pushed by engineering and business leadership due to previous experiences of being badly burned by lock-in in the past. For FaaS in particular, if designed and factored correctly, I think the cost to move clouds can be minimized without building multi cloud capability upfront.
